Organic Task Force

The Organic Task Force will offer guidance to ASTA Committees and the Board on educational and advocacy needs related to organic spice issues and provide a forum for the organic spice industry to network and collaborate with colleagues on issues of interest.

Organic Task Force Member Roster 2022-2023
This group will look at significant challenges for companies in  the organic spice sector –

  • Lack of supply and availability of organic spices, in the face of growing demand
  • Difficulty ensuring suppliers and farmers are meeting requirements and doing their due diligence
  • Customer testing of products
  • Fraudulent organic certifications
  • Pesticide residues

Help ASTA identify the best ways to address issues and provide resources by –

  • Offering guidance to ASTA Committees and Board on educational and advocacy needs related to organic spice issues
  • Conduct outreach to certification bodies, government agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Provide a forum for the organic spice industry to network and collaborate with colleagues on issues of interest
